I have had cats of my own for over 40 years and have also taken care of friends', neighbours' and family's cats (and sometimes dogs too).
I usually take a book with me to bond a little with the cats so they get used to me and settle easily when I go to visit. I'm happy to feed, change litter and groom cats (long or short haired). Even nervous cats seem to like me.
I am also happy to "live in" whilst you are on holiday, taking care of your home as well as your cat(s).

It was wonderful to have Valerie back after all this time of not having the opportunity to need a cat sitter. As always she was brilliant. She is so in tune with cats.. absolutely a cat whisperer.. and looked after our 2 littlish ones excellently as always. They barely noticed we’d been away. She’s an absolute gem. -
